Getting Crystal Back: My 20-Week Journey to Prioritize Myself
Over the last eight years, I’ve played so many roles: mom of three, business owner, event organizer, and let’s be honest, wearer of all hats. But if I’m really honest, I’ve neglected one of the most important roles of all—being me. Somewhere in the hustle and the responsibilities, I lost sight of who I am outside of the roles I play.
But not anymore. Today, I’m making a commitment: to myself, my mental health, and to getting Crystal back.
Why This Matters
Mental health isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the foundation for everything we do. Yet, as moms, entrepreneurs, or busy professionals, we’re often the first to push our needs aside. It’s easier to focus on taking care of everyone else, ensuring the business runs smoothly, or hitting the next goal. But here’s the hard truth: when we keep putting ourselves last, we’re not showing up as our best selves.
I’ve spent years prioritizing everything and everyone else. I thought, “I’ll take care of me later,” but later kept getting pushed further away. My confidence has taken a hit, my self-esteem has waned, and I’ve found myself running on fumes more times than I can count.
If this resonates with you, know this: you are not alone.
My 20-Week Journey
Starting today, I’m embarking on a 20-week journey to rebuild my confidence, restore my mental health, and learn to put myself first. This is not about perfection. It’s about progress.
Over the next five months, I’ll be focusing on:
1. Mental Health Care: Seeking therapy, practicing mindfulness, and creating habits that support mental clarity.
2. Physical Wellness: Moving my body in ways that feel good and prioritizing nutrition that fuels my energy.
3. Confidence Building: Setting small, achievable goals that remind me of my capabilities.
4. Self-Discovery: Rediscovering hobbies and passions I’ve let fall by the wayside.
Why I’m Sharing This
I could have kept this journey private, but I believe in the power of community and accountability. More importantly, I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Maybe you’re a mom who feels like she’s lost herself in the day-to-day grind.
Maybe you’re a business owner who’s burned out from the constant pressure to succeed.
Maybe you’re someone who’s simply tired of putting yourself last.
Wherever you are, I want you to know you’re not alone, and it’s okay to say, “I need a reset.”
Let’s Do This Together
I’ll be documenting every step of this journey—the wins, the challenges, the moments of doubt, and the breakthroughs. My hope is that by sharing my story, you’ll feel inspired to take even the smallest step toward prioritizing your mental health and well-being.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, maybe this is your sign to join me. Whether you start your own journey or simply follow along, know that we’re in this together.
Final Thoughts
This isn’t just about me getting Crystal back—it’s about showing all of us that it’s okay to pause, reassess, and choose you. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and it’s time we stop feeling guilty for filling ours first.
So, buckle up, buttercups! It’s going to be a wild ride, but I promise it’ll be worth it. Let’s make this the season we prioritize our mental health, rediscover our confidence, and step into our power.
Are you ready? Let’s go!
