Week 5: Grateful
Merry Christmas, famILY!
This week is all about gratitude, and honestly, grateful feels like an understatement. My heart is so full—I’m beyond grateful for life and everything that comes with it.
Let me start with a little update: I’m officially down 11 pounds! This journey has been challenging, but I feel better than ever, both physically and mentally. It’s a reminder that every small step forward counts, and I’m truly thankful for the strength and persistence to keep going.
But more than that, I’m grateful for the people who surround me. My support system is incredible. I’m grateful for my family, my health, and for moments that remind me why life is so beautiful.
Speaking of beautiful moments, Camila saw Santa this week. When he asked her what she wanted for Christmas, she said, “I want everyone in the world to be healthy and happy.” Hearing those words stopped me in my tracks. I don’t know what I did to deserve her, but I know for sure that I’m doing something right.
Her wish was a powerful reminder that these little munchkins need me as much as I need them. Being a mom isn’t always easy, but moments like this make me realize I’m a great mom—and I’m so grateful for the privilege of raising these incredible kids.
As we wrap up Week 5, I’m sending love, light, and endless gratitude your way. Merry Christmas, everyone. May your holidays be filled with joy, health, and so much love.
Happy Holidays,
Crystal
Transformation is a journey, not a destination. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been reflecting deeply on how my own path—marked by challenges, heartache, and resilience—has shaped the person I am today. As I embrace Crystal 2.0, I feel compelled to share my story in the hope that it will inspire others to find their own strength and purpose.
From Education to Beauty
My journey didn’t start in beauty. I earned a Master’s in Education and worked tirelessly in the public school system, dedicating 7 to 12 hours a day to my students. While it was a secure job with excellent benefits, it left me drained. Deep down, I knew this wasn’t a sustainable path, especially if I wanted to start a family.
Everything changed when I became pregnant with baby Rose. Baby Rose never made it to this earth—I suffered a miscarriage at 18 weeks. That loss turned my world upside down and forced me to reevaluate my life. I realized I couldn’t continue working in an environment where I was defined by an employee ID number and was ultimately replaceable.
That’s when lashes entered my life. I began learning and mastering the craft, pouring myself into it while on medical leave with my rainbow baby, Camila in 2017. After Camila’s birth, I took a short break, only to discover I was expecting again! With two babies under two, my hands were full, but lashes stayed in my heart.
Finding Strength in Change
In 2019, my husband, Carlos, made a career change that relocated our family to Washington State. Moving away from our family and friends left me feeling lost and isolated. Lashing re-entered my life, not just as a skill but as therapy. It gave me a way to connect with others during a difficult time. I didn’t lash for everyone—only for those who needed support, like my babysitter and house cleaner, in exchange for their help.
Then COVID hit in 2020, and the world changed. I realized I needed to do more to provide for my family. That’s when the idea for Butterfly Kiss was born. The pandemic created an opportunity to focus on product testing and development, as many factories were operating at slower speeds. Carlos handed me $5,000 with one challenge: Turn this into something.
I was determined to succeed. What started as a small dream grew into something far greater than I could have imagined. Today, Butterfly Kiss is more than just a brand—it’s a symbol of heartache, resilience, community, and independence.
A Journey of Transformation
This journey of transformation has been about so much more than business. It’s been about rediscovering myself, building a life I love, and honoring baby Rose, who I carry in my heart every day. Baby Rose would be so proud of her mama.
Sharing my story has reminded me of the power of vulnerability and connection. If this transformation has taught me anything, it’s that every step forward matters, no matter how small. Your story—no matter how painful or uncertain—can inspire someone else to keep going.
Share Your Story
If you have a story, I encourage you to share it. You never know who you might help or inspire along their journey. Our stories connect us and remind us that we are not alone in our struggles or triumphs.
As I embrace Crystal 2.0, I feel a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude. Lashes didn’t just change my career—they transformed my life. Here’s to growth, resilience, and the courage to keep moving forward.
Week 3: The Power of Networking and Sharing Your Story
This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Catalyst Mastermind event in Ft. Lauderdale FL, and let me tell you—it was everything I needed to end 2024 on a high note and step into 2025 with clarity and purpose.
The energy in that room was nothing short of powerful and motivational. It gave me the kick in the you-know-what I needed to refocus, realign, and reignite the fire within. Between this event and fully stepping into Crystal 2.0, I’m feeling unstoppable.
But here’s the thing: it wasn’t just about the motivation or even the incredible speakers—it was about the people. These women and men are my people. The love and support I felt from everyone reminded me how truly blessed I am.
One of the most touching moments of the night was when the sweetest girl handed me flowers and dear friends prayed over me. These moments I’ll never forget—pure kindness, love, and connection. Moments like these remind me why I’m a firm believer that people are brought into your life for a reason—and boy, did I feel that last weekend.
Rosa, my girl. We locked in. I am so incredibly honored to be in your circle. You have opened my eyes to so much, and I’m forever grateful for your wisdom, support, and friendship. Being around you is a blessing, and I’m honored to have you in my life.
When you immerse yourself in spaces like this, you’re not just learning—you’re connecting. Every conversation is an opportunity to grow, to collaborate, and to be inspired. You never know who might offer you a perspective you’ve never considered or open a door you didn’t know existed.
I also had an important realization: sharing your story matters. Too often, we hold back, thinking our experiences are too ordinary or that no one would care. But the truth is, your story could be the spark someone else needs to take action, to dream bigger, or to believe that they can overcome their own obstacles.
Attending this event reminded me that every struggle, every breakthrough, and every lesson I’ve learned has value—not just for me, but for others. If I’m not sharing my journey, I’m doing a disservice to the people who might see themselves in my story.
So, here’s my challenge to you: make 2025 the year you invest in you. Show up to the events. Put yourself in the room with people who challenge and inspire you. Build those connections that can take your life and business to the next level. And don’t be afraid to share your story—it could be the reason someone else finally believes in their own potential.
This is what Crystal 2.0 is all about: stepping out of my comfort zone, moving with purpose, and showing others that they can, too.
Let’s make 2025 the year we move mountains—together.
Two weeks in, and I’m already seeing and feeling the difference! I’m officially down 6 pounds, but this journey is about so much more than the number on the scale. I’m feeling stronger, more focused, and more confident with each passing day.
One of the biggest shifts for me has been starting my mornings with the motto: Look Good, Feel Good. It’s a simple reminder that when I take pride in my appearance, it impacts how I feel and carry myself throughout the day. I’ve been making it a point to get ready daily—no more staying in lounge clothes all day. It’s amazing how this small act has boosted my mood and energy.
And the compliments—wow. Both on social media or from people in the store, the positive feedback has been overwhelming in the best way. It’s incredible to feel that my hard work and commitment are not only making me feel better but are noticeable to others, too. To everyone who’s reached out with kind words: thank you! Your encouragement keeps me going.
This weekend, I’m heading to Miami for a mastermind event—a little business mixed with a much-needed mini vacation. It’s the perfect opportunity to take a step back, recharge, and focus on my goals for 2025. Big things are coming, and I’m so excited to start turning those dreams into reality.
On the business side, we just wrapped up an amazing Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. It was a whirlwind of packaging orders and sending out hundreds of dollars worth of free gifts to thank our incredible customers. If you placed an order or supported us in any way—thank you so much! Your loyalty means the world to me, and I’m thrilled to give back in every way I can.
As I head into Week 3, I’m feeling more motivated than ever. This journey isn’t just about weight loss; it’s about becoming the best version of myself—mentally, physically, and professionally. Each day brings new challenges, but also new opportunities to grow and thrive.
Thank you for being part of this transformation journey with me. I can’t wait to see what Week 3 brings! ❤️
This week marked the start of something new for me— week 1 of Crystal 2.0. I’ve decided to focus on self-care, because let’s face it, when life and business get busy, taking care of ourselves often falls to the bottom of the list. But not anymore!
For the first time in six or seven months, I made time to get my hair done. It felt so good to refresh my look and take a moment just for me. And after LashCon, I finally got my lashes done again, which was long overdue. I still haven’t had a pedicure since ILE Miami (I know, I know!), but hey, this is a journey, and we’re making progress!
Self-care isn’t just about vanity—it’s about how it makes you feel. When you look good, you feel good, and that energy spills into everything you do. Whether you’re running a business, managing a household, or chasing big dreams, taking care of yourself gives you the confidence and energy to handle it all.
This week was a reminder of why self-care matters and how easy it is to overlook it. As entrepreneurs, parents, or anyone juggling a busy life, it’s easy to pour all your energy into others and leave nothing for yourself. But here’s the truth: you can’t pour from an empty cup.
So, if you’ve been neglecting yourself lately, let this be your reminder to start small. Schedule that appointment, treat yourself to something you’ve been putting off, or even take a moment to rest.
As Thanksgiving approaches, I’m reflecting on the importance of gratitude—not just for others, but for the ability to grow, change, and invest in myself. I hope this inspires you to do the same.
And now, it’s time to gear up for the madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But this time, I’m going into it refreshed and ready to crush it.
Here’s to self-care, growth, and becoming the best version of ourselves. Let’s do this!
How are you prioritizing self-care this week? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your journey!

Getting Crystal Back: My 20-Week Journey to Prioritize Myself
Over the last eight years, I’ve played so many roles: mom of three, business owner, event organizer, and let’s be honest, wearer of all hats. But if I’m really honest, I’ve neglected one of the most important roles of all—being me. Somewhere in the hustle and the responsibilities, I lost sight of who I am outside of the roles I play.
But not anymore. Today, I’m making a commitment: to myself, my mental health, and to getting Crystal back.
Why This Matters
Mental health isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the foundation for everything we do. Yet, as moms, entrepreneurs, or busy professionals, we’re often the first to push our needs aside. It’s easier to focus on taking care of everyone else, ensuring the business runs smoothly, or hitting the next goal. But here’s the hard truth: when we keep putting ourselves last, we’re not showing up as our best selves.
I’ve spent years prioritizing everything and everyone else. I thought, “I’ll take care of me later,” but later kept getting pushed further away. My confidence has taken a hit, my self-esteem has waned, and I’ve found myself running on fumes more times than I can count.
If this resonates with you, know this: you are not alone.
My 20-Week Journey
Starting today, I’m embarking on a 20-week journey to rebuild my confidence, restore my mental health, and learn to put myself first. This is not about perfection. It’s about progress.
Over the next five months, I’ll be focusing on:
1. Mental Health Care: Seeking therapy, practicing mindfulness, and creating habits that support mental clarity.
2. Physical Wellness: Moving my body in ways that feel good and prioritizing nutrition that fuels my energy.
3. Confidence Building: Setting small, achievable goals that remind me of my capabilities.
4. Self-Discovery: Rediscovering hobbies and passions I’ve let fall by the wayside.
Why I’m Sharing This
I could have kept this journey private, but I believe in the power of community and accountability. More importantly, I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Maybe you’re a mom who feels like she’s lost herself in the day-to-day grind.
Maybe you’re a business owner who’s burned out from the constant pressure to succeed.
Maybe you’re someone who’s simply tired of putting yourself last.
Wherever you are, I want you to know you’re not alone, and it’s okay to say, “I need a reset.”
Let’s Do This Together
I’ll be documenting every step of this journey—the wins, the challenges, the moments of doubt, and the breakthroughs. My hope is that by sharing my story, you’ll feel inspired to take even the smallest step toward prioritizing your mental health and well-being.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, maybe this is your sign to join me. Whether you start your own journey or simply follow along, know that we’re in this together.
Final Thoughts
This isn’t just about me getting Crystal back—it’s about showing all of us that it’s okay to pause, reassess, and choose you. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and it’s time we stop feeling guilty for filling ours first.
So, buckle up, buttercups! It’s going to be a wild ride, but I promise it’ll be worth it. Let’s make this the season we prioritize our mental health, rediscover our confidence, and step into our power.
Are you ready? Let’s go!
Would you like to follow along or share your own journey? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear from you.

Entering the world of product development and sales can be an exciting venture, but it is far from the fairy tale often portrayed on social media. If you’re considering launching your own product, it’s crucial to understand the complexities and potential pitfalls involved. While it may seem controversial to some, the following advice could be the difference between long-term success and a swift exit from the business world.#### 1. Protect Your Business: Don’t Use Brand Logos Without Proper LicensingOne of the quickest ways to derail your business is by using a brand’s logo or name on your products without the proper paperwork or licensing agreements. This might seem like a shortcut to establishing credibility, but it’s a legal minefield. Trademark infringement lawsuits can be costly and time-consuming, often resulting in significant financial loss or even the closure of your business. If you’re serious about your brand, do it right from the start—ensure you have all the necessary permissions and licenses in place. This not only protects your business but also builds a foundation of trust with your customers.#### 2. Social Media: The Illusion of SuccessIt’s easy to get caught up in the glamorous portrayal of entrepreneurship on social media. Perfectly curated feeds show off successful product launches, massive sales, and seemingly effortless growth. However, it’s important to remember that social media is often a highlight reel, not a true reflection of the hard work, challenges, and setbacks involved in creating and selling a product. Not everyone who tries to launch a product succeeds. The market is competitive, and the road to success is paved with careful planning, constant adaptation, and, often, failure. Don’t let the facade of social media lead you into thinking that success comes easily or quickly.#### 3. Master One Area Before ExpandingAs an entrepreneur, you may feel the urge to dive into multiple aspects of your business simultaneously. While ambition is commendable, it’s more strategic to focus on one area of your business at a time. Whether it’s perfecting your product, building your brand, or establishing a solid sales funnel, ensure that each piece is fully functional and profitable before moving on to the next. This approach not only reduces overwhelm but also allows you to build a strong, sustainable business foundation.#### 4. Keep Your Sales Figures and Financial Success PrivateWhile it may be tempting to share your sales numbers or post images of large stacks of cash on social media, it’s wise to keep these details confidential. Publicly disclosing your financial success can put a target on your back, attracting unwanted attention from competitors, fraudsters, or even regulators. The business world is full of risks, and it’s better to play it safe by keeping sensitive information private. Remember, not everyone who follows you on social media has your best interests at heart.#### 5. Stay Humble: Success Is Never GuaranteedIn business, there will be high months and low months—sales are never guaranteed. It’s important to stay humble and grounded, even during periods of success. Complacency and greed can lead to poor decision-making and ultimately harm your business. Always keep an eye on the bigger picture and be prepared for the inevitable ups and downs that come with entrepreneurship. Our economy and industry are ever-changing, and a thriving business today could face challenges tomorrow. Staying humble and adaptable is key to long-term success.### ConclusionProduct development and sales are not for the faint of heart. It’s a journey that requires careful planning, legal diligence, strategic focus, and a strong sense of humility. By following these guidelines, you’ll be better equipped to navigate the challenges and build a business that stands the test of time. Remember, success isn’t just about making money—it’s about creating something meaningful and sustainable in the long run.
see you next time!

Your Instagram profile is your digital business card, and in many cases, it's the first interaction potential customers have with your brand. Whether you're a solo beauty artist, a business owner, or an influencer, your profile should make a lasting impression and clearly communicate who you are and what you offer. One of the most critical components of this is your Instagram bio—your mini portfolio that can make or break a visitor's decision to follow or engage with you.•What to Include in Your Instagram BioYour bio should be a concise yet powerful statement of who you are, what you do, and what sets you apart. Here are the key elements you should include:- **Who You Are:** Start with a brief description that sums up your identity. Are you a lash artist, beauty educator, or digital marketing guru? Make this clear from the get-go. - **What You Offer:** Highlight your services, products, or expertise. This helps visitors immediately understand what value you can bring to them. - **Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP):** What makes you different from others in your niche? Whether it's your years of experience, a signature technique, or a unique product line, be sure to mention it. - **Call to Action (CTA):** Direct your audience to take action, whether it’s visiting your website, booking a service, or reading your latest ebook. Including a CTA ensures that your profile not only informs but also converts.- **Contact Information:** Make it easy for people to get in touch. Use the contact options provided by Instagram, such as email or phone buttons, or include a direct link in your bio.•What People Are Looking For When SearchingWhen potential followers search for accounts like yours, they’re looking for specific things:- **Relevance:** Does your profile seem relevant to their needs or interests? A clear bio ensures that they can instantly identify with your brand. - **Credibility:** A well-crafted bio with professional language and clear information builds trust. Testimonials, achievements, or affiliations can further enhance your credibility. - **Engagement:** Your content should reflect your bio. If your bio says you’re a lash artist, your posts should showcase your work, client testimonials, and perhaps even tutorials or tips.•What is Searchable on Your Instagram ProfileInstagram’s search function is quite powerful, and optimizing your profile can help you appear in more relevant searches. Here’s what’s searchable:- **Username and Name Field:** These are the most important elements for searchability. Include relevant keywords in your username and name field. If you’re a lash artist, incorporating “lashes” into your name can make you easier to find.- **Bio:** While the bio itself isn’t directly searchable, the words you use can still impact search results. Instagram’s algorithm takes into account the relevance of your entire profile, so keywords here matter too.- **Hashtags:** While not directly part of your profile, using industry-specific hashtags in your posts can also increase the chances of your profile being discovered.•How Important Are Keywords? Keywords are crucial on Instagram, just as they are in any other aspect of digital marketing. They help the algorithm understand what your profile is about and match it with users searching for related content. - **Include Keywords in Your Name and Bio:** For example, if you’re a lash artist, “Lash Extensions,” “Volume Lashes,” or “Beauty Expert” should be part of your profile.- **Use Industry-Specific Terms:** Keywords specific to your niche not only attract the right audience but also enhance your profile’s visibility in search results.•Does Your Profile Make Sense to Your Ideal Customer? If you ever have doubts about whether your profile is clear and engaging, a simple test can be to ask a family member or friend to read it over. If they can’t immediately guess what you do or offer, it’s a sign that you need to refine your bio. Remember, your Instagram bio is more than just a collection of words—it’s your portfolio, and it should showcase your brand’s essence in a way that resonates with your ideal customer. In summary, your Instagram profile is a powerful tool for building your brand and attracting customers. By carefully crafting your bio, using the right keywords, and ensuring that your profile speaks directly to your target audience, you can create a digital presence that truly stands out. Don’t underestimate the power of a well-optimized profile—it could be the key to your next big opportunity.
