This past weekend, I stepped onto a stage with butterflies in my stomach and a heart full of hope. I didn’t walk away with the crown — but what I did walk away with was something far more powerful. I gained a new community of strong, inspiring, beautiful women who welcomed me with open arms and reminded me that we rise higher when we rise together. I found a new kind of strength, the kind that comes from believing in yourself even when the nerves kick in. I discovered a confidence and motivation that I didn’t even know was inside me — and I plan to carry that forward into every area of my life. To my surprise and honor, I also received The Director’s Award, a recognition that touched me deeply and reminded me that the effort, the heart, and the spirit we bring to every experience truly matter. Perhaps the most meaningful takeaway? The gentle but powerful reminder that it’s okay to step outside of your comfort zone. In fact, that’s exactly where magic happens. Sometimes it’s in the energy of a room, a deep conversation, a hug from someone you haven’t seen in years, or watching someone else win. It’s all fuel. 🔹 “The humble don’t stumble.” My personal motto continues to hold true. Staying grounded has brought more clarity, alignment, and genuine connection than anything else. 🔹 Conferences and networking events fuel me. These gatherings aren’t just about learning or marketing. They remind me of my purpose: to make a difference. My goal is always to walk away having impacted at least one artist — whether through advice, encouragement, or just listening. 🔹 Connections are everything. From catching up with childhood friends, to embracing lash community peers, to being with family — it reminded me how important relationships are. They’re the backbone of this journey. 🔹 Now it’s full steam ahead to Mrs. Arizona on the 22nd! This experience is more than a crown — it’s a platform. And that brings me to my WHY: To empower women. Week 5: Grateful   Merry Christmas, famILY!   This week is all about gratitude, and honestly, grateful feels like an understatement. My heart is so full—I’m beyond grateful for life and everything that comes with it.   Let me start with a little update: I’m officially down 11 pounds! This journey has been challenging, but I feel better than ever, both physically and mentally. It’s a reminder that every small step forward counts, and I’m truly thankful for the strength and persistence to keep going.   But more than that, I’m grateful for the people who surround me. My support system is incredible. I’m grateful for my family, my health, and for moments that remind me why life is so beautiful.   Speaking of beautiful moments, Camila saw Santa this week. When he asked her what she wanted for Christmas, she said, “I want everyone in the world to be healthy and happy.” Hearing those words stopped me in my tracks. I don’t know what I did to deserve her, but I know for sure that I’m doing something right.   Her wish was a powerful reminder that these little munchkins need me as much as I need them. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been reflecting deeply on how my own path—marked by challenges, heartache, and resilience—has shaped the person I am today. From Education to Beauty My journey didn’t start in beauty. I earned a Master’s in Education and worked tirelessly in the public school system, dedicating 7 to 12 hours a day to my students. While it was a secure job with excellent benefits, it left me drained. Deep down, I knew this wasn’t a sustainable path, especially if I wanted to start a family. Everything changed when I became pregnant with baby Rose. Baby Rose never made it to this earth—I suffered a miscarriage at 18 weeks. That loss turned my world upside down and forced me to reevaluate my life. I realized I couldn’t continue working in an environment where I was defined by an employee ID number and was ultimately replaceable. That’s when lashes entered my life. I began learning and mastering the craft, pouring myself into it while on medical leave with my rainbow baby, Camila in 2017. After Camila’s birth, I took a short break, only to discover I was expecting again! With two babies under two, my hands were full, but lashes stayed in my heart.   Finding Strength in Change In 2019, my husband, Carlos, made a career change that relocated our family to Washington State. Moving away from our family and friends left me feeling lost and isolated. Lashing re-entered my life, not just as a skill but as therapy. It gave me a way to connect with others during a difficult time. I didn’t lash for everyone—only for those who needed support, like my babysitter and house cleaner, in exchange for their help. Then COVID hit in 2020, and the world changed. I realized I needed to do more to provide for my family. That’s when the idea for Butterfly Kiss was born. The pandemic created an opportunity to focus on product testing and development, as many factories were operating at slower speeds. Carlos handed me $5,000 with one challenge: Turn this into something. I was determined to succeed. What started as a small dream grew into something far greater than I could have imagined.
